Editorial Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
This page explains how Chronly creates, reviews, and maintains its calculator content and supporting editorial articles. Our goal is complete transparency about our process and standards.
Our Editorial Mission
Every tool page on Chronly aims to provide three things: (1) an accurate, well-implemented calculator; (2) a clear explanation of the underlying methodology with cited sources; and (3) honest, prominent disclosure of what the tool cannot do. We believe that well-informed users make better decisions, and that burying disclaimers in fine print undermines the entire point of publishing educational health and financial information.
How We Build Tool Pages
Research the Methodology
We identify the authoritative source for the calculation methodology (e.g., SSA regulations for retirement age, published peer-reviewed studies for biological age factors) before writing a single line of content.
Implement and Verify
The calculator logic is implemented, then cross-checked against published worked examples, official guidance documents, or reference implementations.
Write with Limitations First
Editorial content is written with limitations and disclaimers drafted before the promotional content, not bolted on at the end.
Expert Review (Health & Financial Tools)
Health-related and financial-related tool pages are reviewed by our qualified medical editor (Dr. Sarah Chen, MD, MPH) or financial reviewer (James Harrington, CFPĀ®) before publication.
Cite All Sources
All referenced research, government guidance, and data sources are cited inline and in a sources list at the bottom of each relevant page.
Annual Content Review
We review all tool pages annually, or when the underlying research or regulatory guidance changes (e.g., Social Security FRA tables, updated epidemiology).
Advertising Independence
Chronly displays ads through Google AdSense. Advertisers have absolutely no influence over our editorial content. We do not:
- Publish sponsored content without clear disclosure
- Accept payment to feature, promote, or omit information about any product, service, or organization
- Allow advertiser relationships to influence which tools we build or how we describe their limitations
- Accept affiliate commissions for linking to products in editorial content
If this ever changes, we will update this policy prominently.
Corrections Policy
If you spot an error in our calculations or editorial content, please contact us. We take errors seriously. When a correction is made to a published page, we note the change at the bottom of the page with the correction date.
