What is heart age?

Heart age is the estimated age of your cardiovascular system based on your risk factor profile. If your heart age is younger than your actual age, your cardiovascular health is above average for your demographic. If it's older, you have more risk factors than the average person your age โ€” and a greater chance of heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years.

The concept is widely used by the CDC, NHS (UK), and American Heart Association as a public health communication tool because research shows people respond more actionably to a "heart age" framing than to abstract percentage risk numbers.
